2022 CARE GROUPS
Between a Rock and a Heart Place, Margie Morales & Mary Jane Sasser, Callers. This group, composed of working women, practices the discipline of bearing witness to one another’s lives as we share about our personal and spiritual lives. (Meets 2nd and 4th Wednesdays, 6:30 pm to 9:00 pm.)
Caritas, Rebecca Dietz and Pastor Claire Matheny, Callers, This CARE group is for those who feel called to strengthen their inward journeys through monthly connection with others at KC and strengthen their outward journeys through fostering engagement and growth among the different generations of our church, most particularly children and youth. (Meeting 1x per month)
Everyday Mystics, Theresa Gale, Caller. The purpose of this group is to experience, strengthen and stabilize an inner presence to oneself and to God; to be fully present to the experiences of everyday life and know that every
breath you breathe is one with God; and to be a vessel of God’s love. (Meets on the first and third Sundays of the month from 8 am-9:30 am.
Genesis, Sandy Queen and Anne Yenchko, Callers. If you are new to KC or are a new member and need to be part of a CARE group, this group will help introduce you to the mission, the work, and the foci of CARE groups. Our purpose is to help you find a good “fit” in a CARE group. (Meets 2nd and 4th Tuesdays of the month at 7pm.)
Hearts & Hands, Ken and Harriett Katzen, Callers. The purpose of this group is to provide spiritual support to those who are engaged in, or considering, an active mission in the wider community. (Meets on the third Friday evening of the month at 7:00 pm for a potluck dinner.)
Listening to My Soul, Don Link, Caller. Our group’s listening will be cultivated through a variety of spiritual practices from many faith traditions, including meditation, prayer, chanting, Lectio Divina (holy reading),
journaling, Quaker silence, immersion in nature, retreat and others. We will learn practices with, and from, each other. (Meets the 1st and 3rd Tuesdays of the month from 10 am to Noon.)
Many Paths—One God, Ann Ivester, Caller. The purpose of this group is, through shared leadership, to acknowledge and affirm the many different paths to God by sharing our own historical paths, our current paths, and the writings of different faith traditions, while still maintaining our Christian focus. (Meets 1st and 3rd Wednesday at KC from 6:30 to 8:15 pm.)
Ministry Support, Jack Dunlavey, Caller. The purpose of this group is to support individuals in their chosen ministries through group prayer, scripture study, and pursuit of their call. (Meets 1st and 3rd Wednesday evenings at members’ homes.)
Simple Abundance, Tim Gillen, Caller. The purpose of this group is to focus on living simply and abundantly and with gratefulness. We support each other with following the disciplines and living with our call. (Meets 3 Mondays per month, 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm at members’ homes.)
Tending the Sacred Garden, Elaine Buderer, Caller. The purpose of this group is to care for and honor the Sacred Garden of KC. We support each other and all who would assist in keeping the garden a place of quiet beauty. (Meets weekly in the Sacred Garden during the growing season, and once-a-month December-February)
